Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was full, and I loved every minute; it was a perfect combination of my sons, friends, Mom and Trish, and lots of phone calls in between all of that.
This was Chloe staring me down, telling me that I needed to get myself up and feed her. She was hungry, and possibly on the verge of being hangry! How could she not be with her baby sister Stella chewing/biting/nagging her to death all the livelong day?! 🤣
I got dressed for the first half of my day and left to meet my mom, stepdad, and nephew Jaret who is here from Colorado for breakfast. We went to my favorite little breakfast spot, Eggs Up Grill. I had an omelet with spinach, mushrooms, and cheese, with grits as my side. I couldn't finish it all and left quite a bit on my plate, but it filled me up. I'd also told a friend I would have lunch with them that day, so I left straight from breakfast and met them at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I didn't eat, but I did get a smoothie that I sipped on the whole afternoon. It was the Sunrise Sunset tropical flavored one that had the fewest amount of calories. It was delicious! I came home after lunch and rested before getting dressed up for Friday night, also known as part 2 of my day. Below were my outfit contenders.
I went with the option right above these words, the bright dress. I attended/worked the gala that Marilyn's work put on Friday night, a fundraising event for the non profit organization she works for. It was so much fun being extra with the hair/makeup/jewelry/clothing for a night!
This was such a fun evening! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to do this Friday night; it was fun seeing Marilyn and getting our pictures made together when we're both dressed up. I was there early so that we could do just that, and I had planned to stay the full time, but around eight, I started feeling bad. I'd felt like I was getting congested all that day, and by eight o'clock, it had hit me. There was an auctioneer that was doing a great job, but was giving me a terrible headache. I took some medicine that Mare had, but after thirty minutes of it not letting up, I decided to leave. I was home by nine and dead asleep by nine thirty until almost seven Saturday morning. I woke up feeling better, but I hated that I had to leave so early. It was a fun night, regardless, and I had a fun Saturday as well! I'll talk more about that later this week, though, since this has become pretty long.
Before I leave you today, I have some blog business/dates to tell you about since I forgot last month. 🤣 First up is that April's Share 4 Somethings will take place on Saturday April 26th; if you're new here, all year long on the last Saturday of each month, we share some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of. The topics stay the same for each month. May's Currently link party will take place on Wednesday May 7th; in May we'll be talking about what we're currently loving, looking forward to, leaving behind, letting go of, and looking at. Again, for anyone new here who wants to participate, the topics for Currently change each month; I provide the next month's prompts at the bottom of that post, and this always takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. I hope you make plans now to join me for both of these each month! Meanwhile, I'll try to be better at giving you reminders.
What did you do that you loved this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for being here to read my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn ❤️🩷
Thank you friend! I am so thankful to do life with you! I think you the dress you wore was perfect for Friday and I am glad you came & are feeling better. So thankful you had a full weekend! Love you!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for this too and thank God for you everyday. I had such a great time with you Friday night. You looked beautiful!
DeleteThank you for suggesting Release Radar! I had never heard of it and put it on immediately - that Phil Wickham song is excellent! I often wonder how to find “new music“ since I never listen to the radio anymore. I will start looking forward to this on Fridays for sure.
ReplyDeleteI’m so thankful you have found such a good friend in your life. I’m sure this is the time of year that you start looking back from a year ago right now and really can’t believe where you are. This summer will certainly look different and then going back to work in the fall will be another new addition to your life - sounds like you are ready for it!
Have a great wee!!
I'm so glad I came across that station on Spotify! I loved it as well and figured other people needed to know about it in case they didn't already know. Isn't that a great song? Thank you for that, friend! It will look different, but I'm so excited about all that is to come. If I can survive last summer, I can definitely survive the one to come!
DeleteSorry you didn't feel well! Allergies? I think I am having some allergic flare ups after this weekend of dealing with dusty stuff and being outside.
ReplyDeleteGreat long post! That makes sense. Once you are back in a school I think that will shift a bit, but if it doesn't, that's great, too.
Allergies! The pollen is still trying to kill me here. I am always worse after sitting outside! Thanks, friend. I'm here for whatever comes!
DeleteYour weekend sounded really nice, minus not feeling well for part of it. The gale event looked fun and how nice to get dressed up to be part of a fundraising event. It's great that you are excited about being back in school next year! Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteIt was still a great weekend! I don't let the allergy stuff stop me at this point. I always love getting dressed up for a fun night out! I hope your week started well, my friend. Happy Tuesday!
DeleteSuch a blessing to have found a kindred spirit in this season of life. Looks like a fun weekend, and I love your bright dress! And lots of excitement about things to come too! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteYes! I wholeheartedly agree and thank God for this every single day. It's such a huge blessing to me! Thank you for the dress love; it isn't new, but one I bought last spring. I wore it last year as well, but this year it seems to hit differently, maybe because of the weight I've lost? I love bright colors, though, and think this one is so much fun. I hope you have a great day, my friend!
DeleteI am a total introvert but that said if something happened with my husband I could not imagine staying home. I'm already trying to come up with some plans for when Evan goes off to college as I don't even think I'll be getting out much to hike and while I don't love being around a lot of people all day long I know I can't sit at home all day by myself all week long either. I've been toying with the idea of a part time job that would get me out of the house and also help pay for those college tuitions... but I want something sort of fun and different. The gala sounds like a lot of fun but I'm sorry you weren't feeling your best for it.
ReplyDeleteI always thought I was as well until my life changed! But you're right, and it could just be that I changed when he left. I started working after my sons graduated for that same reason; I was bored staying home and knew I wanted to do something. I'm glad I did, because that was what put me back into the working field; if I hadn't been working for the last two and a half years prior to my divorce, it would have been so much worse for me having to work again! I'm grateful for God's providence regarding matters like this. I hope you had a great start to the week, my friend! Much love.
DeleteHello! I am happy to catch up with you here, my friend. I appreciate the background you share with us as it helps to get to know you better! You are such a bright light in this Bloggy Land, and I am thankful God put your friend right near you just when you needed her most. He tends to do that, know what we need before we do! I pray you are feeling better. Allergies are horrible here! Have a cozy Monday!
ReplyDeleteHi, friend! Thank you for your kind words; they're always greatly appreciated and they really do mean a lot to me at this time in my life. I'm glad we found each other here in this little blogging community! I love that about God, how He always provides exactly what we need, before we even know what we need. He is so good to us!
DeleteTotally understand why you need to be out and busy- I have often felt like that over the years- you are doing a great job of doing what you need! You are looking amazing- I loved all of your outfit options but that dress is so pretty and springy!
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm glad you get this about me. I can see you being the same way! Thank you for the kind words, my friend. Isn't that a fun dress?!
DeleteThanks for the tip on Release Radar. Sounds like a great "radio station." I love your bright dress, and it looks like y'all had a fun time. I'm sorry to hear it ended with not feeling well! The pups are so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a great playlist! Thank you for that, it's such a fun and bright dress. I love color!
DeleteIt is good that you have found your people and circumstances have made you less of an introvert. It really sounds like you are loving life!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely weekend you had! I love all of your outfits, especially the bright dress! The fundraiser looks like a fantastic event.
Yes! I think so too. Thank you for that! I am loving life and feeling so fortunate to be able to say that.
