Happy Thursday, friends! I have this running list that I keep in my journal each week entitled, "good things from this week". That's where the idea for this type of post came from; it's basically like the old Thankful Thursday posts that I made weekly. I have learned that especially when a lot of "dragons fly over my house", that it's of the utmost importance that I keep looking for the good things to thank God for. There is a purpose in everything, and I always want to remember this no matter what is going on in my life (or not going on). Here are the good things I've noticed so far this week:

Music is life-giving to me! I am in a phase of life where I'm listening to things instead of watching shows or reading books. I keep music going all day long, no matter where I am: at work, at home, in my car, lying in bed at night. No matter the time of day, I have music playing, and my playlists change to match my mood and time of day. My favorite playlist on Spotify is still the one titled Release Radar, where new music is put out weekly; this is a compilation of my favorite artists. I'm writing this post on Wednesday afternoon and listening to a new song called Pink + White by Vitamin String Quartet. My musical taste is eclectic, to say the least.
I love seeing my sons living their best life! Jonah took this picture of his truck with his baby girl Stella sitting like a model on it Sunday night. She's basically perfect.
I love being on my town's library board! We had our quarterly meeting this week, and we were all there for the first time in ages. Even our illustrious town mayor (my friend Maureen) was there. We took a new picture for the town website. Isn't our town hall beautiful? I took that first picture for my friend who "might" be old enough to be considered a senior citizen; I told him I saved it for him in case he wanted to join me at the meeting that night. His response was, "Ouch." Also, when I sent it, he was at his own town hall meeting because he is also involved in town government.
I'm so thankful to be able to continue to live in my beloved home. Jonah and I are taking care of the neighbor's dogs this week, and I took this one morning from their driveway. The sky was perfect, and the moon was still out as the sun started to make its reluctant appearance. I love (
love) seeing Dad's truck in front of my house. It makes me think that he's here waiting for me inside; and that makes me remember all our fun Fridays together. I'd give anything for just one more!
I am so thankful for a job that I have loved for almost two years! I love my church family and truly consider this beautiful place my home away from home. What an honor and privilege to love what I do and do what I love. I will never forget how the Lord dropped this job right into my lap!
I loved seeing one of my bonus sons' graduation pictures this week; this is Zander, the nephew of my old neighbors and dear friends, Katie and Travis. They lived next to me for years and theirs was the pool we swam in everyday during the summer. We camped with them, we ate with them at least one night a week and played card games, and we exchanged kids all the time. This does my heart good to see this "little guy" all grown up!
This was him (black hoodie and then yellow jacket) on my favorite camping trip ever: the one we we took in Blanchard Springs, Arkansas, in the foothills of the Ozark mountains.
It was such a good thing that I was able to be a stand-in for my friend who couldn't make it to her daughter's performance yesterday. I loved being able to do this for my Abbey, and I think Everly enjoyed me being there for her.

This was absolutely adorable; please note the cutie patootie laying on the floor enthralled with these kids performing songs for us! I love my job and my life, because if this is "work", then I am the most blessed woman on the planet.
What were some good things that happened for you this week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn 🖤
Sweet glimpses of your week! Your son's white truck is striking- I can see how he's proud of it :). It was nice of you to attend your daughter's ceremony. Have a great day and see ya soon!!
ReplyDeleteWords can't express how much Jonah loves his truck. He's always doing something to it to update it, or make it better. I hate that Abbey couldn't be there, but I'm glad she knows that she can always count on me to stand in for her when she needs me. I'll see you tomorrow!!
DeleteI hope there's not many dragons flying about lately. hehehe
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Stella on the truck did make me chuckle. She looks so pleased with herself and the truck looks amazing!
Your town hall is beautiful and how lovely to see one of your bonus sons.
I'm so glad to say that there haven't been any dragons flying over lately! I don't take this for granted, because there was a time when it was a daily occurrence. Isn't Stella adorable? She does look pleased with herself, doesn't she? I hope you're having a great week, friend!
DeleteYour house looks so pretty and cozy...I am sure you enjoyed admiring it from across the street! So glad you are happy at work too- makes a big difference in life doesn't it? A good thing for me this week was spring weather- it is finally here and I am not taking it for granted!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I did love looking at it from across the street. I don't usually think to get that view. I know that you loved that spring weather! I am guessing that you had some nice walks this week, too. I've been doing the same thing here on the days when I'm able to do that. Happy Thursday, sweet friend!
DeleteThese seem like small things but they are big things! I love a little kid lying like that! Mine used to do that next to each other.
ReplyDeleteI think they're little big things, too! I don't take that for granted, given what my last year has looked like. I love to see that, too! I have pictures of my twins doing that as well; it's the epitome of little kids living their very best lives. Happy Thursday, sweet friend! I get to see you tomorrow! Be prepared for a huge hug.
DeleteLook at Miss Stella! She knows how to sell a vehicle!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet to be there with Everly! Look at Miss Stella. She is a confident little one and what a fun picture of her on the truck. So glad it was a good week for you!
