Friday Favorites, 4.4.2025.

Happy Friday, friends! How has your week been? Mine has been really good, but also full of ups and downs, completely unrelated to my divorce for the first time in forever. Such is life, right? It started off really roughly, but it's ending on a high note. Here are the highlights!

Last Saturday would have been my dad's 94th birthday, but it was his first in Heaven. My sister Trish and I decided to spend the day together honoring him. We started our day with an amazing breakfast; we went to Eggs Up Grille, a new favorite place of mine. I had the most delicious breakfast!

This was called the Crab-ocado bowl. It was scrambled eggs as the base with crab cakes and spinach on top. It was delicious! I'll be getting this again when I go back.

Being with Trish, that amazing breakfast, and spending time at the cemetery was all a favorite of mine for Dad's first birthday in Heaven. I know without a doubt that this would have made Dad so happy!

Celebrating Luna turning two on Dad's birthday was a favorite! I love that she shares his birthday.

This little bird is my favorite; it reminds me of Psalm 91, and how God tucks us under His feathers.

My newly painted hot pink door is still my favorite!

I mentioned this Wednesday, but I'm having a moment with Meghan Trainor music, and this is my current favorite song.

My favorite outfit this week was full of pink.

Walking and catching up with Mare were my favorites this week!

My J mug is my current favorite!

My hot pink lipstick is my favorite; I've recently pulled it back out this week!

This is my favorite ice cream! I've been eating it a spoonful at a time for eight days now.

I love that it's short sleeve weather; my tattoo that you see is my favorite!

Lastly, Wednesday night was my favorite! Drew called to tell me he was coming home to spend the night, and Alex (my bonus son) came with him. It was a magical night that I never want to forget, and the fact that it was on the eve of Drew turning 25 was icing on the cupcake! I loved having him here the next morning; he ate breakfast while I folded the clothes I washed for him, and then I sent him home with food for last night.

What was a favorite from your week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

  1. Your week in pictures looks nice! I like your pink outfit- so springy and pretty. How great to spend time with your sister even though the occasion that brought you together concerned your dad and the fact that he's no longer here on earth to see. The breakfast place you went to sounds good. Scrambled eggs and crab cakes- yes please! Have a great Friday and weekend!

    1. Thank you! That was such a fun outfit to wear, and we all know that I'm having a minute or a few with the color pink. Marilyn sent me something this week that talked about women loving the color pink after a divorce; it was interesting and makes me think it may be true. It signifies healing! I love that. Dad would have loved how we spent last Saturday together honoring him! We always celebrated with him while he was living, but he loved food and quality time, so he would approve. I hope you enjoy your weekend, my friend! xoxo

  2. I really need to listen to that Meghan Trainor song because I keep reading about it on your blog! I legit just set an alarm on my phone to play it later this afternoon -- can't blast it at 6:30am when the rest of my family is asleep and then I'm off to work but this afternoon... Watch out!!! Have a great weekend!

    1. You have REALLY got to listen to that song! Some of her stuff has language that isn't great, so I'd be selective of when I listen if you have littles at home...but I need upbeat/happy music in my life right now, and hers is that just and more. Let me know your thoughts! Have a wonderful Friday and weekend, my friend!

  3. Love the hot pink lipstick! Love all the pink - that is your theme - the door, the lips, the pants! That crab o cado bowl looks amazing! So much to love in this post. It sounds like you made it to the other side of the downs of the week. I hope you have fun plans for the weekend.

    1. Thank you! I thought of you this week as I used it, because we both enjoy a good lipstick. Pink is definitely the theme of my life right now! This makes me laugh. It was so good! I am relieved to be on the other side of this week, and that it gets easier with each passing day. I have a full next week and a half, actually! Seriously, I'm gone every night from tonight through next weekend. I need that! Enjoy your day and weekend, my friend!

    1. Thank you, Penny! It's a mixture of two colors- Revlon "cherry" something or other, and an NYX lipstick in a nude pink. I do the cherry one first, then top it with the NYX. I do that all the time to tone down the brighter colors, including the red I like to use at Christmas. Happy Friday!

  8. I love the hot pink door and lipstick too. I still think of my mom so much, especially on her birthday and the day she passed. I'm glad you got to spend the day with your sister. I don't think anything makes me happier than having one (or both!) of my kids home. :)
