Happy Friday, friends! How was your week? Are you still floundering around wondering what day of the week it is? Have you resumed normalcy yet? I went to work again yesterday, and it felt so good to be back. I miss my work family when I don't see them very often and think that is such big blessing! I am still in the phase of telling the Lord thank you for the fact that I get to go to work when I'm there. I have some favorites from the week that I thought I'd share.
Compare and contrast pictures are my favorite! The top picture popped up in my memories this week, which immediately reminded me of the picture we took together on Christmas day.
I went to Taco Bell for my dinner Sunday night and got this drink; did you know they have zero sugar Baja Blast??! It's one of my favorite drinks.
I went to the funeral of my friend's dad Monday, and it was one of the best funerals I've ever attended. He was such a godly man, and his son preached his funeral. I sat with my friend Laura in the tech booth for moral support.
Have you heard of this trendy lunch called a Tiffany plate? I came across it on TikTok; it consists of mainly veggies with cottage cheese and mustard. I couldn't find some of the veggies I wanted for this, so this was my own version of it; don't knock the cottage cheese and mustard until you try it, though! I was surprised by it, in a good way.
This picture card you see in the frame was my favorite Christmas card this year. It's my dad's house all decked out for Christmas! My brother Paul and his son William outdid themselves on the card this year.
Having a new Bible to read and write in is my favorite!
Receiving cards has always been a favorite of mine; check out this pile of cards from the last six months of my life! I have the greatest friends a girl could ever ask for.
This is one of the pillow cases my friend Faye gave me for Christmas! Isn't it beautiful? I opened the box immediately and washed the cases, and this week I shared one with Marilyn so that she, too, could lay her head down each night on this promise from Isaiah.
And speaking of Marilyn, how cute were we on New Year's Eve? We went to not one, but two parties together! Her friends were so kind to include me in the invitation. Check out my drink; they called it milk punch, but it was similar to a white Russian. It had milk, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I only had a sip of this and a sip of red wine prior to this.
New journals are always a favorite!
And so are old pictures that I came across.
I went to Mom's and Bill's for an early dinner on New Year's day; driving home with a sunset like this is always high on my list of favorites.
I have mentioned several times lately how much I love quirky home decor items; I love this little snow bird my one of my best friends gave me a long time ago. He reminds me of her every time I see him.
Little books like this one above are another favorite of mine; I love little daily shots of wisdom that can be found in this book.
This candle warmer is my newest favorite thing. I love how the smell permeates this small space, and I love the ambiance the light gives.
Something odd about my new life is the fact that this is where I eat dinner most nights. If I cook for Jonah and me we eat at the table together.
Lastly is this new brush that Mom gave to me this week; it's my new favorite brush! It glided right through my tangled up curls after I showered yesterday when I got home from work.
What was a favorite for you this week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. I'll see you back here next week, and don't forget about the Currently link party on Wednesday! We'll be talking about what we're currently loving, doing to stay warm, resolving, organizing, and wearing. I hope you make plans to join me! Love to all.
Jenn 🖤

What a great list of favorites! Love the throwback pics and coming across old photos randomly is the best. The card your brother created was thoughtful- I like that you framed it. The picture of you and Marilyn is great! I'm glad you two had a fun NYE evening. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love old pictures, too. Those were in my memories from New Year's Day when the twins were the only ones with me at my mom's house for dinner. I remember that like it was yesterday! That card literally took my breath away when I opened it; I gasped, then I burst into tears. I will cherish it always! Happy Friday to you!
DeleteLove the way your mantle looks and that candle warmer sounds genius. Glad you are surrounded by your sons and friends- you are blessed for sure! Have a wonderful weekend friend XO
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend! I am glad for that as well. I hope you enjoy your weekend, too!
DeleteDid you have them stand in the same order for that reason? I love seeing this! I like your hair lighter! You all look great on NYE! I think I would like your drink.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you were happy back at work. That's a really good sign.
So much happy this week! My niece was telling me how obsessed she is with Taco Bell and what she orders. She mentioned potatoes and the Baja Blast. So, now I am kinda curious and want to get the zero sugar version.
Isn't that funny? They're kind of reversed in the photos, but it's close, for sure. I like my hair lighter, too and won't ever go back. I suppose I'll go from blonde to gray all over (maybe when I'm 80 something). It is a good sign, isn't it? I never dread going to work, although I do dread some things I have to do sometimes, like yesterday when we sat down to try and balance for the month. It worked out really quickly, though! My boys get that thing with potatoes, too, and they introduced me to the real version of Baja Blast years ago; I was pleasantly surprised when she mentioned there was a zero sugar option. It's so yummy!
DeleteLove the photos of you and your boys. Do you guys always stand in the same order? Love it! I've been thinking about buying a candle warmer, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny? Their order isn't the same, although they all look similar enough that it appears that way. We've been posing like this since they outgrew me. You should get one, I love mine so much! It was a Christmas gift from one of my sons, and I've used it everyday. This one was inexpensive, maybe around $25? I hope the same for you, my friend!
DeleteThanks for the Currently update - I guess I was a week early! Oops! :) I've been eating cottage cheese lately and I put in everything bagel seasoning. Maybe I will try it with mustard!
ReplyDeleteNo worries at all! It's really good and totally surprised me. Cottage cheese is one of my favorite things to eat!
DeleteI think my first Friday Favorite needs to be your blog! It's the first one I look for each day. Another favorite - I pulled the trigger and bought the Bible Recap study guide -- it's been in my Amazon "save for later" for 2 or 3 YEARS! I'm struggling a bit to get going but I know it's because of my health issues. Finally, I guess a favorite needs to be that I have surgery scheduled for next Wednesday to remove the entire upper lobe of my right lung - my attention span is not the best right now but I have every confidence in my surgeon and also have mighty prayer warriors lifting me up so I know all will be well. Keep sharing - I'll be right here, reading.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet of you to say! Thank you, friend. I am praying for you! I have your name written down in my journal to remind me to pray for you often. I totally understand how health issues would affect your life in all areas, even in your quiet time. I am so glad to read that you'll be doing TBR this year! I know that you will be incredibly bless through reading God's word this year. Good for you! Maybe listening to the Bible being read to you would be your best option...that's what I did last year and will do it this year in some of the more difficult places in Scripture. I'll keep sharing, and I love knowing that you'll be here to read each day! Take care, my friend.
DeleteToday feels like a Friday but only just, I have been lost with the days. We get back to normal on Monday.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo comparison of you with your boys, not so much boys now but young men!
I have never had cottage cheese with mustard but now I want to try it and I've never heard of a Tiffany plate but I like it.
Have a great weekend!
It's the weirdest feeling! Thank you for that. I love seeing those old pictures. They always make me smile! You'll have to tell me your thoughts about it if you try it!
DeleteGreat list. I love it when photos pop up in your memories and you can do a then and now shot. My Dad used to mix mayo and mustard for a dip for pretzels, but I've never heard of cottage cheese and mustard. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love that too. Oh, I used to love mixing mayonnaise and mustard as a dip. I haven't done that in ages! I hope you enjoy your weekend as well!
DeleteOh I love a good compare and contrast photo too! How neat that you all stand in similar poses for all your photos. I am intrigued by the combo of cottage cheese and mustard... I'm not a huge mustard fan but that is one I'll have to try. That snow bird is adorable.
ReplyDeleteTrying to read posts in the car on Feedly. Just struggle to do anything on my phone. Can't see where to write a comment other than to reply to someone else's. Yikes.
DeleteYou are surely loved. Look at the cards!! That sweet Bible verse pillow. And 2 party invitations on NYE.
Love the candle warmer. So sweet. Need to check out that mustard/cottage cheese combo. And the Baja blast.
Thank you, Joanne! It really did surprise me with how it tasted. I loved it!
DeleteAnonymous- thank you! I love getting cards in the mail. I feel so blessed to have so many people who love me! Let me know your thoughts if you try that dip and/or the Baja Blast!
DeleteWhat a special Christmas card of your Dad’s house! Still cherishing the memories of Holiday in the garden at Moody Gardens with our youngest granddaughters and thankful our guardian angel was looking over us as we drove through a tornado warning on the way to Galveston. Give your pups a big hug from me!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I love it so much! That's so sweet about cherishing those memories and the feelings of gratitude of being protected as you drove. 🖤
DeleteI love your new notebook. I am also ready to get back to routines.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was so ready for that.
DeleteI really love your fireplace area. So beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend! I love having that space to decorate.
DeleteI love the throwback photo...those always pull at my heartstrings. Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I remember those sweet times. I need to think about a candle warmer. what a great idea. I'm so glad both you and Marilyn will lay your head down on a pillow reminding you of God's perfect peace. Hope you have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe Tiffany Plate is not new, looks like a redone version of the old school so-called diet plate. Just as unappetizing and boring, I believe it was a burger patty, cottage cheese, pineapple ring and some wilted looking lettuce leaves.
