thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday, friends! What. A. Week. I am so glad it's Thursday and that there's snow predicted starting today so that I can stay home and chill in front of a show to binge watch, or by reading all the books. I think I'll do a mixture of both! I am mentally exhausted from the dread that this week has brought me, just so you know what kind of week it's been. Thank you all for your kind words to me over the last two days! I greatly appreciate each kind comment written to me. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Words never seem adequate.

I'll jump in with today's list of things that I'm thankful for.

  • cold weather
  • snow that's predicted, and that it won't last too long (it's up to 45 on Sunday)
  • my sisters who all go above and beyond for me
  • my Mom and her wise advice
  • Jonah (he took care of the outdoor faucets at home because of the freezing temps)
  • Drew (he took the time to call me just to thank me for one of the gifts I gave him for Christmas that he wore for the first time this week)
  • Graham (I love that I got an unexpected visit from him yesterday, and also on Sunday when I hung out at his house for a while before picking up my sisters from the airport)
  • Noah (I love that he calls me over random food things, like how long to cook the roasted potatoes that he loves)
  • my quiet time this week that has been perfect for my life circumstances; I'm reading in the book of Job and I have found encouragement there each and everyday
  • good books to read
  • good, clean shows to watch (When Calls the Heart and When Hope Calls that I watch on Hallmark Plus)
  • the gift of laughter
  • the reels that my closest friends send me on IG that make me laugh inappropriately hard
  • people who stand up for me
  • standing up for myself this week in one of the most unusual things I've ever had to do
  • setting a boundary and being hopeful that I'll stick with it
  • people who advocate for me
  • the fact that God's love for us as His children is unrelenting
  • music that reminds me of how good of a Shepherd God is to me

On that last note, I'm leaving you with a song that I have on repeat right now; it's Sparrows by Cory Asbury. I hope you listen and that you're encouraged!

What are you thankful for this week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

P.s. Just a reminder: if you ever want to talk more about having a relationship with Jesus and don't want to talk about that here in the comments, feel free to email me! I'd love to hear from you and talk to you more; I'd also love to know how to pray for you. So many of you have prayed for me, I would love to reciprocate! My email is allboys@gmail.com.

  3. Wonderful! I can sense your relief in your words. I am glad you are excited and ready to hunker down and the hope that Sunday and 45 will bring helps a lot. I don't see anything above freezing in our temps for the next week but hopefully we can return to school Monday. Younger on Netflix is a little racy, but it's not too bad - unless my radar is all off? I'm really enjoying re-watching. I'm also really into The Sicilian Inheritance by Jo Piazza.

  4. First of all, I've never heard that song, but I love the words. I love how kind God is to us. It seems I've heard of His kindness multiple times recently. I'm sorry life is so tough for you right now, but I love that you continue to deliberately look for things to be thankful for. That is the best thing I know to do. I also wrote a thankful post today, in a little different way than I usually do.

  5. It sounds like you have so many wonderful family and friends in your life! We've had some pretty chilly temps this week and don't see any real break in that coming up but I'm enjoying spending a quiet week in our basement with the woodstove and the puzzle my sister got for us before we left on vacation... even if it is making me go a bit crossed eyed since it's such a hard one!
