Happy Saturday, friends! Welcome to the last Share 4 Somethings link party of 2024! The new year's prompts are at the end of this post, so stay tuned. For today, for one last time this year, we're talking about the things we loved or disliked, accomplished, improved upon or needs improvement, and noticed this month. I'll jump in!
I loved all the fun festivities this month! Getting to go to The Orpheum for plays was such a treat that two of my sweet friends extended to me.
I loved when this big tree finally made her appearance in our grand foyer at church!
I loved going here for lunch with my friend Dedee one afternoon; we sat here for three solid hours as we caught up with each other. It's always like that when we meet for lunch! We never run out of things to say.
I accomplished the things I set out to this month! I sincerely hoped to be finished with Christmas shopping early, and I am so glad that it turned out that way. I finished the Monday before Thanksgiving, and I wrapped everything early. I finished up the last of the wrapping last Monday, and I'm glad since I ended up being down with my back.
I love seeing presents under the tree.
I improved upon my perspective this month, and hopefully my attitude and mindset. I tried not to focus on things outside of my control, and I didn't give too much time and energy into thinking negatively about (ahem) anyone or anything. I definitely didn't succeed at this one hundred percent of the time, but I get better at this the more that time goes on.
The Word of God helped me with this; I have not neglected my quiet time in the mornings, and I know that so much of what I'm experiencing in the ways of peace, love, and hope are all a direct result of that. I read the Word of God to help me know Him more, but I am also always encouraged myself as I read.
I noticed lots of good things this month: that I felt more at peace this Christmas than ones in the past, that my joy seems deeper than ever before, that my family and friends are my always for me, that there is always something to be thankful for, that giving really is better than receiving, and that I have so much to love about my current life. I'm so grateful for all of these things, and I never say that lightly.
I love this little link party so much; let's do it again next year! I'll keep it on the same day of every month, the last Saturday of the month, and even if I'm ever taking a blog break or forget to mention it here in the days preceding that Saturday, I promise to be here with the link open. I'll keep it open for a couple of weeks each month, so I don't care how late or early you are to the party. The prompts for the entire year will be the same each month—some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of. I hope you make plans now to join me each month! The dates will be January 25, February 22, March 29, April 26, May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30, September 27, October 25, November 29, and December 27. I include those now for all fellow blog planning friends. Thanks for being here to read and join in with me today, friends! Love to all.
P.s. Here's a new graphic for 2025 if you're interested! Please make not of the change in my URL.
I hope you do too! It does help when I remind people, but I always forget to do that part. Today I forgot to share the HTML code for the link. Ugh! I do well some days; other days are hard, but I know it's a normal part of the process. He leaves today! I had a good cry over it last night, but I'm better today. I know he's ready to go back, and I love that he was here for what felt like a long stretch of time. I am making plans to go visit him again before Spring, so I have that to look forward to, which makes saying see you later not as hard. It was a really great visit, though! I'm thankful for this.
ReplyDeleteI love live shows but rarely think to actually buy tickets. Yay for all your accomplishments and improved attitude; though I honestly feel like you have handled all that life has thrown at you this year so incredibly well!
ReplyDeleteI want to do more of that kind of thing in 2025. I always love going! Thank you for your sweet words; maybe my struggle has been more inwardly than outwardly, which makes sense as to why I feel like I've improved on those kinds of things. I hope you enjoy your weekend!
DeleteIt's been a long time since I've been to a live play. Maybe I'll make that a goal for 2024. I just added my link-up. Hope you have a great rest of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt had been a long time for me, too! More than ten years. I think that's a great goal for the new year! I'm glad you joined us today!
DeleteI loved reading all of this and you!

DeleteI love all the positive, joyful, and grateful vibes in this update. That theater looks beautiful and like such a fun place to see plays - what a treat! So glad that God has been helping and blessing you in so many tangible ways through the holiday season. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The theater is gorgeous and historical. I love old buildings! Thank you for that, friend. Happy New Year!
DeleteWe went to a community theater production of Miracle on 34th Street this Christmas. It was great and so fun. Praying for you as you navigate your new journey. Thanks for hosting this and thanks for the new prompts! I'm also grateful that you keep the link open so long. Blessings, Pam
