I'm changing my name! I don't know how big of a deal this is here in the blog world as far as search engines go these days, but I decided to make a huge change here on my blog. I love all of the versions of the word "joy", and since my blog URL is now JoyfulJenn.com, I decided to make that name part of my blog title. Here's what I came up with:
I love what Psalm 16:11 says:
You reveal the path of life to me; in your presence is abundant joy; at your right hand are eternal pleasures.
If I've learned two things in 2024, it's that God's goodness isn't based on life circumstances, and that having the joy of the Lord is a daily choice. God is always good no matter how hard life is! It's kind of a pet peeve when people boast of His goodness after good things happen. Well, guess what? I've had a lot of bad and hard things happen this year, but I can still say with absolute certainty that God is good, and He is faithful. He's been right here with me the whole time!
I've also learned that I have to choose joy all the time. Who wants to stay sad and depressed at how life is going? Nobody wants to be around that kind of person, but more importantly, living like that weighs a person down. God doesn't want us to live life like that either! He wants us to live a life that is abundant with joy! He wants good things for His kids, and when you consider that, it's almost impossible to be any other way.
Life is different for me now; this blog name change feels appropriate considering how my life has played out this year. I feel great about this! You may need to update your sidebar and consider this when you tag me in your posts. Thank you for being here for me, friends! I just wanted to give a little insight as to why I decided to do this at this time in my life. Love to all!
Jenn 🖤
