Happy Thursday, friends! I'm co-hosting the Ageless Style link party today with several ladies, and the topic for this month is transitioning our wardrobes from summer to fall. I love this topic and could talk endlessly about it, but I won't drag on and on, I promise.
Because of where I live, even if it says fall on the actual calendar, often times summer weather forges on. Because of that I still wear a lot of the same things I wear in the summer, but I wear the clothes that are more neutral in tone. I end up wearing a combination of dresses, jeans, leggings, and pants that are thin in their material. Here are a few of my favorite looks:
My favorite outfits are more neutral in their color, even down to my shoes. I love doing this during the in-between weather days.
I wear open-toed shoes for as long as humanly possible; then I switch over to flats, boots, tennis shoes, and my beloved Hey Dudes. And because I even wear open-toed shoes in my house at home year round, I like to keep my toes polished for that reason.
I got this fall inspired pedicure last week, and then on Monday, I got my nails done.
I also tend to wear chunkier jewelry in the cooler weather, because in the summer months it just feels too hot to add anything extra like that when it's a hundred degrees out.
One last thing I like to switch up in the fall is my lip color. I go back and forth between wearing a bright color in the summer, and wearing a sheer neutral lipstick. In the fall, I go darker!
My all time favorite fall lip color is called Paramount by Mac.
I love the dark color that it is because it takes me back to my teenage years when I always leaned a little toward the Gothic style of things. What do you do to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn 🖤
I love the fall lipcolor from MAC that you featured. I will have to look into that. I have a MAC lipstick- it´s good quality but alas, I chose a color that ended up looking too pink on my lips. I tend to wear brownish hued (though not brown!) year round on my lips. I hope I am not giving a goth vibe(!). I don´t think that I am- I remember that look from the 90´s.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first MAC lipstick I've ever used, and I am a huge fan. It's creamy, but it also stays on. I'm sure you're not giving off that vibe, and I don't want to either, so I usually lighten it up with a color on top.
DeleteI love your nails! I will never get sick of ponchos either; though most of the ones I own are quite thick so I wait for "real" fall to wear them.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have seen some of those here, but I don't have one. I'm just ready to not be hot one day soon! 🤣
DeleteLove the new nail color! That is fabulous! I don't think I have tried NYX Suede yet but I love all their products. I love going a little darker with my lip color, too. Love your early fall outfits!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You should try one; it's a little matte/dry, so I put a gloss on top.
DeleteWelcome to the team! All your summer to fall outfits are fab. I do the same, just transition to fall colors until the weather cools. What a great idea to mention nail and make up colors. I change out those too, along with going darker on my hair.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad to be here! I think those are fun things to change from season to season, don't you??
DeleteYou always look so cute! I keep my toes polished year round, however, I am always giddy to start wearing boots again!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Of course you do, because you're a good little Southern girl, like me!
DeleteI love the clothes that you wear. You always look so stylish but comfy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteYou have almost the same colour nail polish on as me at the moment.
Thank you! I do have to be comfy at all times. I can never sacrifice that. That's funny!
DeleteI love how you choose nail polish and make up to bring some fall tones! It's a easy way to feel like fall without getting hot! I also like to wear more sneakers in September/October because they don't make me hot like a layer would.

Yes! I like this idea too, and it really does make it feel more like fall. That's a great idea as well!
DeleteEven here in Minnesota I love wearing my open toed shoes for as long as possible and I get a pedicure regularly because of it, too! Your style is very cute... there's nothing like a dress with pockets!
ReplyDeleteYes, girl! I love being able to do that and to splurge like that. Thanks for that! You are so right.
DeleteWelcome to the group! Love the toes and nails and the added fall vibes. Wear the summer clothes as long as you can I always say, probably because where I live our longest season is winter. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Thank you! You are so right. I'm glad to be here!
DeletePonchos are one of my favorite fall layering pieces! Love all of these outfits! Also loving your nail color!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
Mine too! Thanks for that, friend!
DeleteI just love how you switch to the darker colors for fall. It's still really hot here in AZ, so I know what you mean,

I love this time of year for that! It's hot here too, actually, but I do think it's getting a little cooler in the days to come. Here's to hoping!
DeleteYes to darker colors in the fall! There's just something so cozy about them. I also change my makeup and lipstick colors because it just seems right to do so. Welcome to the Ageless group!

Yes! I love doing that, too! Thanks; I'm glad to be here!
DeleteHey girl!! Love the lip color recommendation. Going to look for it. I need a good fall color. Had my grandbabies give me a pedicure and realized I only have summery nail polish. Need to remedy that pronto.
ReplyDeleteYour transitions pieces are perfect. My favorites are the poncho and the oatmeal color sweatery top. The poncho reminds me of the southwestern flavored pieces I love so much.
Hey there! I hope you like it; I love finding new fall colors. Thank you for that!
