weekending

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a good weekend! I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's post. How was your weekend? Mine was really, really good! Here are a few things I did:

Cheers to the weekend! I was up way before the sun, and had my coffee while reading blogs. I love my long mornings at home when I'm off work.

I had my quiet time, which was so good...

...and then I got started on sourdough bread baking day. I made two mini loaves this time! My hand is next to it for measuring purposes. I'm going to start making mini ones to give away, and I've had a few people ask if they could buy some from me when I make it the next time.

After the bread was finished, I did laundry, cleaned, then I got dressed and left to go pick up Marilyn for a field trip. 🤣

I went here to do something fun, but come back tomorrow and I'll share about it then. She's the best for going with me! It's always more fun when friends join you. I hung out with Marilyn for a while after my appointment, then we got yogurt and went back to her house for a while. I had plans that night with another friend, so when I left Marilyn's, I went to Michelle's house.

We had skinny margaritas, gourmet pizza, and lemon pound cake. It was good, and I loved seeing her house! I took this picture in her dining room to remind myself how good those colors look together, because I may do something similar in my home.

I read in bed for a while and fell asleep around eleven that night. I was up early on Saturday and made the bed...

...then I came downstairs to watch a few episodes of my favorite show.

I had excellent quiet time once again, then I got dressed to swim in my neighbor's pool!

How cute is this hat that belonged to my dad? I've never been a hat person, but this one is making me change my mind.

I came home and showered, and cuddled with Chloe while I read my book. I went to Mom's and Bill's for dinner that night, and we had the best steak dinner! I didn't stay long, because the sun zapped me that day while I was at the pool.

I was at church by 7:15 Sunday morning and wearing a favorite dress from a year ago.

My sweet stepdad was baptized yesterday! It was such a great morning of worship and the sermon was phenomenal.

After church I met up with my family for lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant and came home to clean out and organize my closet! This makes me so incredibly happy. I made some big changes and I am loving the result. I need to clean the shelves off that are above my clothes, but I'll work on that here and there this week, starting today. I'm donating a bunch of my clothes that I haven't worn in years, and I'm coming up with different options on how to store certain items.

For the rest of the day I took a nap, washed my hair (always a huge chore), finished cleaning in my room, watched tv, worked on my blog, and talked to one of my best friends. It was a great weekend, and I hope yours was too! What did you do that you loved? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

    1. It was such a great weekend! You can guess, or you could just read about it tomorrow when I share more...🤣. Thanks for that, my friend! I still love this Target dress from 2023; it's quite a bit roomier now than it was then, but I don't feel like it looks too big. When it gets to that point, I'll have to pass it on to someone else. I never wear hats, but I really love this huge one!

    1. Thank you! And thank you a million times for going with me on Friday and for doing something spontaneous. Just remember that I'll return the favor when it's your turn! 🤣 I'm serious...I thought about you with a butterfly...it would be so cool if it were just the outline of one with some interesting little details. I want to sketch something for you and you should consider one! No pressure, though. Ha!

    1. Thanks, Cathy! I love the hat too, even though I've never been one to wear one except for a baseball cap here and there. It really was a great weekend! I hope you have a wonderful day, my friend.

  9. That sounds like a fabulous weekend! That hat looks fabulous on you. I'm not usually much of a hat person but I'm trying to become one when I have to spend time in the sun. I think it's all dependent on the hat you find though and I have yet to find one that really fits my head well (and looks cute!).
