Friday Favorites, 7.12.2024.

Hi, friends! As you can tell, I'm forcing myself to be here often, because my life needs to resume some sort of normalcy right now; this is one way I can work on that. Thanks for checking on me, thank you for your prayers over me and my sons, thank you for being a constant source of encouragement to me. I am so grateful for you!

I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for today's blog post.

Fresh flowers have been my favorite lately. This beautiful arrangement is from a friend of my sons, Nick and his girlfriend Lauren. How precious that they gave me this? They are so precious to me, and somehow in the midst of feeling abandoned, I've also never felt more loved.

On a frivolous note, my dresses and sandals are still my favorites. Also, isn't it great that I still have a frivolous side? My sense of humor is also still intact most days, which is also something I'm thankful for.

Everything in this gift basket that I received is my favorite! I can't believe someone put a Stanley in a gift basket for me; I know what those cost!

This is one of my favorite things that I've seen online in the last week or two.

And I feel the same about this picture. I had a good laugh over this one, because it reminded me of my sister Lisa and her tiny four foot something self.

This verse is one of my favorites that I've been clinging to recently.

Favorite shirt, favorite song, favorite motto in life.

Bread making is still one of my favorite things to do! I look forward to bread day every single week, and today is the day that I'm preparing it for baking tomorrow. This is also a favorite thing of my sons; I hope to share loaves of this someday, but they've been eating it each week! 🤣

Memorizing Scripture has always been something that's a favorite of mine; I'm working on doing this again. To memorize the Word of  God is to hide it in my heart, and I need to fix my mind on the love of God right now.

It's always a favorite seeing my Drew post about work!

Matching is always a favorite! My friend Amy and I both shared up wearing our summer white at church last Sunday.

Extras for dinner are always a favorite! Drew was here to eat with me Monday.

Again with the flowers being my favorite...

My pastor's wife Darlene made this cake for us; strawberry cake is one of my favorites!

These windchimes are my favorite thing at the moment. My friend Karen gave me these this week to remember my Dad by; someone gave her the same ones when her Dad died, so she passed it forward. I will also pass it forward, because what a thoughtful gift.

Amen. I love every word of this!

Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all.

  1. It's great to see you here again today and don't feel pressure to respond to comments. What sweet reminders this week of all the goodness and the love that you still have in your life. Our Kroger has added another shelf vertically to all of the aisles so let's hope I never need anything up that high. I was already struggling with the former top shelf! Ha!

  2. Jennifer, I just read your last post and realized that your dad has passed away. I'm so sorry, my friend. I loved reading about your dad and the time you spent together. It blessed me so much, because I would have loved to spend that kind of time with my dad. The care and attention you gave to him was such a blessing. I'm lifting you up in prayer and am so thankful you are surrounded by such sweet friends and family who are taking care of you during this time. Take in all the conversations and laughter and tears and hold them as memories for later. They become very precious as the years go by. Much love to you today.

  5. Love all the flowers and the fact that you have been loved on extra hard recently. Also those sentiments- from the poem on the windchime to the saying about hard things (SO TRUE!) to the Bible verses. I hope you have a weekend surrounded by people you love and all of your favorite things!

  8. Flowers and cake...two favorite things that hopefully brightened your day. The windchimes are such a thoughtful gift. I have climbed the shelf like that many times and hoped no one was looking. I love that last quote. Yes, we can do hard things and we can also choose which path to take. Hang in there!
