Happy Friday, friends! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for today's favorite blog post of the week. How has your week been? I hope you can say that it's been a great one! Mine has been really good; I've had a good mix of all the things I love, which I'll share more about below. I'm still getting used to Todd being gone for four nights in a row; I've not done great at dinners for any of us this week, so hopefully I'll be better next week. I felt off of my grocery game this week and hope to do better next. I'll jump in!
I can smell these towels as I look at this picture; no matter how many times they've been washed, they smell like sunscreen and summer. Those are a couple of my favorite scents! Also, did you know that folding clothes is one of my favorite chores to do at home?
This is Boone, one of our neighbor's dogs that we've been watching. Isn't he sweet? I'm his favorite, especially while I'm in the pool. He likes for me to put water on my hands and then pet him. It cools him off a little! Their dogs are super sweet and well behaved; they never get into their pool, which I love. Swimming with dogs is not my favorite!
My summer hearth is my favorite right now; I love all the color! The turquoise colored jar you see on the right was an antique store find for $12; bargains like that are my favorite!
My time with Jesus in the morning is always my favorite! I really love the wisdom literature book of Proverbs. It's a great book to read in a month, there are 31 chapters, so lots of people read a chapter a day.
Pool day is always the best day! I shared a post on Tuesday about what's in my pool bag. I'd link it, but Blogger won't let me because they're having all the technical difficulties this week.
This day was a favorite! Todd and I got to stay home together that morning, and we sat at the kitchen table and did work on our computers.
Book club was a favorite this week! And so are these flowers that I was given when I returned my friend's glass milk jar. I filled her jar with some of our hydrangeas when I returned it, and she gave me some snapdragons in this adorable jar.
I love to eat at the Newk's in my area, but my favorite thing about going there are their seasonal cups!
This deodorant is my current favorite...
...and so is this bright Swig cup that I use for my coffee.
My dear friend Marilyn brought me this amazing bread while we were at Book Club on Monday night; homemade sourdough bread is my favorite! She's going to teach me how to make it next Friday, and I am so excited. My boys have devoured this loaf!
My favorite outfits this week at work are this pink shirt/cover-up with fitted/cropped white pants...
This black dress and sandal combo was one of my favorites for work this week; can you believe this is an Amazon dress? You should click that bold print/italics phrase and see for yourself. There are so many colors to choose from! I got the 2x size, and it's just fitted enough in the bust area and flowy everywhere else. The pockets might be my favorite!
This was another favorite dress from this week at work, and so are
these new sandals that you'll see below!
I was surprised by how comfortable and lightweight they are!
I bought myself a new barstool for work this week; it's my favorite place to sit while I'm working now!
My little quirky turtle is my favorite! I recently put
this fiddle leaf fig tree in his shell.
I need to put it into a pot, but
this new olive tree that I bought from Walmart is also my favorite!
Lastly, last night was my favorite night of dinner, because my Drew came home to eat with me! I love seeing his work van parked in front of our house.
I shared lots on my blog this week, and I'd love to provide links for you, but I still can't link to anything. Blogger is not my favorite at the moment; they've been having issues with links and pictures all week long! Just keep reading and you can read my posts from the week; I'm not done yet, though! I'm sharing a bonus Saturday post tomorrow, so I hope you come back to visit. It's my new series called The Cozy Chronicles. I'd love for you to stop by! What was a favorite of yours from this week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!
Sorry for your technical difficulties! That's frustrating! I forgot to say that a favorite of mine this week was talking to you, but you didn't say it either so now I feel ok! Ha - just kidding! I think you know my sense of humor by now!
ReplyDeleteI think that is so sweet that the dog likes you to pet him with wet hands and I agree about swimming with dogs. They would scratch you - on accident. I am jealous of the sourdough lesson and I want you to chronicle it!
Ugh with the tech problems! I figured out the picture thing finally, but now it's the links that aren't working. Some do, but a lot don't. It's so strange! You just made me laugh; I forgot to mention that, but it really was a favorite! I know you by now. 🤣 Drew dog sat for his friend one time, and they had a pool; we went over there and tried to swim, but the lab kept jumping in with us! I felt like I had wet hair all over me, and we had to get out. If we had a pool, I wouldn't let them do that, though it is kind of a good idea to have a kiddie pool for them. But then it'd be too messy in the house!
DeleteThat's a great idea! I'll definitely have to take notes, and I'll share about it afterward!
The quirky turtle is so cute! And I like a cute fiddle leaf tree plant as well. I also like to read the book of Proverbs. Your Bible so neat with all of the room to write on the margins. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maria! I love to read Myquillyn Smith's books on home decor and her trademark is that if you're going to buy something, make it something big enough to make an impact, and make it memorable. I know this isn't for everyone, but I love having some whimsical things in our home. I feel like it helps make a space more welcoming!
DeleteYes that black dress looks amazing on you AND love the sandals with it- your pool time looks wonderful too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holly! It was so refreshing. I wish I had it again this weekend! I'm thinking about seeing if my mom-in-love wants to meet at hers the minute it opens tomorrow just so I can be in the sun again!
DeleteSo glad it was a good week for you! I like the olive tree and cute outfits this week too! I am happy to hear your family like the sourdough bread and will be ready next week for our sourdough time. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love that olive tree; I love having something like that in that spot. At Christmas time, I put a tree right there. I'm so excited about my lesson next week! Drew came and almost finished the loaf off last night. 🤣
DeleteI love the smell of sunscreen, it makes me think of summer! I always have baskets of clothes which need folding, you are welcome to come here and do mine. hehehe
ReplyDeleteYour fireplace is so pretty and how lovely you got to have a morning at home with Todd.
That bread does look so good! How wonderful that your friend is going to teach you how to make it.
It does me the same way, Kim! Don't tempt me...I'd gladly do them for you. Thank you for that! I hope your have a wonderful weekend, my friend.
DeleteThat black dress looks great on you! And I really like your new sandals too! And that sourdough bread looks so good! How nice of your friend to teach you how to make it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nicole! I'm so excited to learn!
DeleteI love to fold clothes too! Good thing since I had about 6 loads to do today. Your outfits are really cute. I have been eyeing those shoes for weeks now and think I might just have to break down and buy them.... and then probably hide them from my husband. :) He thinks I've bought too many shoes this summer but I don't know what that means.
ReplyDeleteJoanne, this doesn't surprise me about you; we have so much in common! Thank you for that! You made me laugh about hiding them and about you not knowing what too many shoes even means; I feel the same way about books!
DeleteI'm so glad you like the sandals! The blogger technical issues are so frustrating. I hope they work it out soon. Sometimes I can get links to work and sometimes nothing shows up! Hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the rec, Tanya! I'm in the "trying them out" phase and walking around in my house with them. Yes to the Blogger issues! I was having that exact same issue with links not working; I'd paste the link and the word "null" would pop up. Hopefully next week they'll get some of those problems worked out. I hope you have a great weekend too, my friend!
DeleteThank you, and also thanks for stopping by to leave a comment! Tell me your name and your blog address if you have one, I'd love to visit and return the love. I posted my second edition of The Cozy Chronicles today, and I linked the first one at the bottom. Thanks again for your kind and encouraging words!
