Happy Thursday, friends! I am so ready for it to be Friday night, when we're home from helping Noah get moved into his apartment in Dallas. 🤣 I'm dreading this day, but I'm also looking forward to it, because I am excited for Noah! But I'm dreading it, have I mentioned that?
Anyway, onto the things I am thankful for. I'll list them here below!
- God's perfect timing
He has worked out all the details down to this week in ways that have blown my mind, including Drew asking if he and his roommates could come for dinner on Saturday night before Noah leaves, the fact that it's our church picnic on Wednesday night and I don't have to be at church that night, and the fact that our accounting person at church is out of town this week, meaning I don't have to sit in her office while we go over finances for the week, which will allow me to leave early so that I can come home and pack before we leave when Todd gets home that afternoon from his new job.
- the fact that we've had access to pools recently
Our neighbors are having Jonah watch their dogs and told us we could swim anytime we want! We'll be doing this for a few weeks, and I'm grateful to have a pool so close by.
- beautiful flowers
- a cleaned off back deck with lights that work again
- a freshly mown yard
- rain to water the earth
- sunshine to dry up the wet grass
- instructions from Mom on drying our hydrangea blooms
- the word of God
- the gift that prayer is and praying friends
- Instagram voice messages
- texts from my sisters and brother
- new places to eat with my young friend Holly
- amazing pub food at an authentic Irish pub (more about this tomorrow)
- meeting new friends and instant connections
- sweet, sweet time with Jesus every morning when I get to linger in His word
- seeing my niece and greats yesterday and playing with them at the park
What are you thankful for this week? I'd love to hear from you! I'll be out of town tonight, so even though I have a post scheduled for Friday, I won't be around until Saturday to respond to comments. Speaking of Saturday, you should join in with us for the May edition of Share 4 Somethings, where we talk about the things we loved or disliked, accomplished, improved upon or something that needs improvement, and noticed throughout this month. I'd love for you to join us!
Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!
Jenn 🖤
So much to be grateful for! Good luck with the move in- keep us posted :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Thanks, Holly, I will.
DeleteThankful for a meaningful career and students that have appreciated me and my teaching style and let me know through their sweet notes. Thankful to have four people to cook for for now. Sending prayers your way and it sounds like perfect timing for all you had going on this week!
ReplyDeleteI know you are so grateful for all of this, Amy! You should be so very proud for the kind of teacher you've been. Thank you, my friend!
DeleteWhat a great week and hope the travels go well. I am thankful for friends supporting me today.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marilyn! That is a great thing to be thankful for.
DeleteSo much fun in this week. I know Friday will be hard, but from experience (as both of my girls live far from home), you can adjust and adapt. What's helped me, is prayer of course, and knowing they are living the life they want and are happy. If they are happy, then this mom can be happy. Video chats can help a lot.
ReplyDeleteCathy, thank you for your encouraging words! I definitely count on video chats.
DeleteBest of luck getting Noah all moved in!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI always love to hear/read how God is in all the little details. It just always "blows my mind" (if that is the appropriate phrase)! He is so personal and so good to us!! Praying for you as you head back home....and for Noah, too!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I love that too! I never want to get used to God working in such incredible ways.
DeleteLaura, thank you for your sweet comment and for linking up today! I am so glad you decided to join in with me; this is my favorite post of the week, because I love pouring out my heart in thanksgiving to the Lord. He is always so good to us, and He is what I always want my blog to be all about, with some lighthearted fluffy posts thrown in between. I will go check out your blog now! Thanks for stopping by, and for the safe travels and warm wishes. I am looking forward to all that is ahead for him! Happy Memorial day to you as well, friend!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to be grateful for. You have a wonderful list.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Dawn! Thank you!
