Hello Monday

Happy Monday, friends! I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's post. I hope you had a good weekend! Before I get started and in case you missed it, I wrote two bonus posts this weekend. The first was one titled The Cozy Chronicles (part 1) and the other was one titled Dear Mom. Now for this weekend, it was another fun one and busy one, and I am so glad! Here is what I did...I'll use a few words with a lot of pictures.

I love seeing Drew at work!

I spent the morning doing a lot more writing...

... and Todd helped me figure out some pricing for an invoice that I have to do at work on Tuesday.

Dad came over! We went to put gas in my car, we ate lunch, and we shopped for a gift for him to give Sandy for Mother's day. While he was here we started talking about my wedding, so I decided to pull out our wedding album, and we spent the last half hour together side by side going through the pictures.

This was me with one of my bridesmaids Heather. I had six bridesmaids; five were sisters (including an in-law) and Heather was my one friend that was in the wedding party. Todd had the same: his brother, my brother, and four of his best friends.

After I took Dad home, I went straight to my mom's and Bill's house for dinner and to visit more with Lisa. And look at what happened in our area that night!  These are not my pictures, but ones of friends from Memphis; we experienced the northern lights here in West Tennessee. I will say that in person I heard that it did not look like this; the phone camera captured the lights in such a way that it made the colors brighter. Jonah was driving straight into it and didn't realize that he was looking at it; he said the sky had a red tint, but it wasn't anything like this. But isn't that cool?

We watched our neighbor's dogs this weekend; Jonah did most of it, but I took the early morning shift since I am still waking up at four in the mornings. I went to feed them and to spend some time with them for a bit so that they wouldn't get lonely. This one right above is the cutest little miniature Beagle named Ruby. They have a beautiful backyard with a pool; they told us we could use it this weekend, but it was too cool outside. They're traveling a lot coming up in the next few weeks, though, and it will be warm enough for us to use! I'm excited about this because it's supposed to be really warm and sunny here on Saturday. I'm thinking that's where I'll be planting myself this coming weekend.

It was a beautiful morning! I love that early morning sunshine at 6 a.m.

My mom and sisters and I went to lunch and to our favorite antique mall that afternoon.

And I drove home by way of my favorite street in town, this beautiful tree lined street.

Todd and I had dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant that night and I snuck this picture of him laughing from when he was messing around with our waitress.

Todd went on a bike ride and sent me these pictures.

I woke up to flowers and cards on Sunday morning, which is the sweetest thing ever. My boys outdid themselves on their cards this year; they wrote me really sweet notes on the insides and I will cherish them forever. I got two bouquets of flowers, a chick fil a gift card, and my favorite type of candle. I felt so loved and treasured all day long!

I took care of the neighbors dogs again and loved the way the sunrise was making our house look.

We went to Mom's and Bill's for lunch after church, and I got this picture with three out of my four sons. Graham was in Nashville all weekend and got back later that day.

I love them!

Lisa and me...

....and Noah with Mom. This will be his last time at their house before he moves to Dallas in two weeks. I'm talking more about this tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Flowers from my Jonah...

... a turtle planter that I bought myself from the antique mall on Saturday that I fell in love with...

...my favorite kind of candle from Drew...

...and flowers from Graham. That night Todd's parents came over; we had an Asian chicken salad that I made us for dinner, which was delicious, and then we sat out on the deck visiting afterward. It was a great night!

What did you do that you loved this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! I have lots more to write about this week, so I hope to see you back here tomorrow. Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!

    1. I did! I hope yours was good as well. I'm just getting around to reading blogs for today, because I have changed up my morning routine. I'm sharing about that this week! We will be having beautiful weather this week, and I feel confident I'll get some time in my chair. I used it last night for a while as we sat on the deck with Todd's parents. xoxo

It sounds like you had a lovely time with your dad.
The northern lights were visible here too but I missed seeing them. The first I knew about it was Saturday morning when I saw all the photos on social media.
Oh wow! Todd's bike looks amazing!
Well done your boys for spoiling you on Mother's Day. What lovely family photos.

    1. Thanks, Kim! It was such a great day with my dad. I'm always thankful for them, because time is a gift. I missed it too, just barely! He sure loves his bike; it's even more beautiful with the sunset behind it! I hope you had a wonderful mother's day, my friend.

  5. Sounds like a lovely weekend! My son also wrote me something very sweet and meaningful in my Mother's Day card. I will treasure it always!
That turtle planter is too cute! I would have snatched up him too. And then promptly killed whatever I decided to put in him - I do not have a green thumb at all!

    1. It was! I love that your son did the same. I'm not sentimental about a lot of things that are tangible, but the gift of words is something I dearly treasure. I love this little turtle planter, but the flower in it is faux! You should look up faux plants/hanging baskets on Amazon, you would be amazed at how real things look. I don't have a green thumb either, much to the chagrin of my mom. She owned a florist when I was growing up, and she can grow anything!

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday, friends! I feel like shouting from the rooftop that Christmas is over, I survived (thrived at times, cried at others), and...
