weekending & things I primed in June

Happy Monday, friends! I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's blog post. I'm also linking up with Tanya for the second half of this post, where I share about recent Amazon purchases I've made. I'll jump right in!

I started my weekend by driving home from the beach. Did you catch my bonus Saturday post? I shared about my beach getaway last week. Click here to read it!  As much fun as I had, it is always so great to be back home. There truly is no place quite like it. I was met with a bunch of excited pups! I also got to spend a little bit of time with Jonah's baby girl, Chloe. Look at her sitting so pretty!

She's in the adorable phase of playing hard, then crashing. She's precious! Her name is Chloe, in case you missed that last week. And if you're keeping count, she makes the fifth dog in our home. I have a really hard time saying no to them, especially because they're all so great at helping out around the house. In the grand scheme of life, what is one more since we already have four?

My handsome guy worked that night and sent me this.

Please never tell him that I share these! 🤣

I tried watching a couple of movies, but nothing stuck for me, so I gave up and watched old episodes of Grey's. I went to bed pretty early, because I was tired and super achy from the drive home. I slept so good that night! Do you miss your bed so badly when you travel? I love ours. We have one of those memory foam type mattresses.

I met up with my mom and Trish on Saturday. It was good to see them! We went to a shop kind of nearby that Mom needed to go to, and I looked around at their pants. I'll probably go back and find some for fall in a few weeks, even though they're a little pricey. I need really good quality pants, and I know that I love the J. Jill brand. I love shopping their clearance sales too, but they didn't have much of a selection when I was there. After that we went to lunch at Jason's deli, then we browsed at Marshall's. I didn't get anything at all while we were out, I was truly just there to see them. Todd and I went out that evening for some errands, then we went out to dinner at our favorite local Mexican restaurant.

And we ended the night running errands. We ran to Costco, then Kroger, Academy, and Walmart. We said we would never again end our date night with a trip to Walmart. I really hate that place! The only way I can stand it is to place an online order, which I did yesterday. I won't go into details, but know that the #peopleofWalmart are really a thing. I was at church early on Sunday, where I ran the front of house screens again for the congregation, then I came home and crashed. I didn't rest at all Saturday night/Sunday morning, so I don't know if it was me being tired or the heat and humidity making me feel bad, but I didn't feel great after church. I did seem to get better after I ate a peanut butter and honey sandwich on wheat bread and two pieces of Babybel cheese for dinner. It may also be that I haven't drank enough water, and it made me feel bad. I don't know, but I was glad to be feeling better. For the rest of the afternoon/night, my husband worked a shift with the sheriff's department, and I watched Gilmore Girls.

And now onto the Amazon Prime Purchases for this month...click on each picture to be taken to Amazon in a separate link.

First up this month was this replacement visor.

This is my second one from this brand. My other one is a brighter blue, but it tore, and I like this faded look more. Here's a picture of me wearing the hat last week.

I love it!

Next up are these packing cubes that I love.

I don't know why I waited to so long for these, but I got a color we could all use at separate times when we travel.

Next up are these sports bras I got to wear at home (and out sometimes). I love them!

They're super plain and simple.

I was influenced to get this, so I used a gift card I got from a student at school while I was working. I like this product a lot! I have to be careful not to use too much, and to distribute it evenly over my face, chin, underside of chin, and maybe even to my neck.

This was the morning after I used them for the first time. I used too many drops! The key is to start small. I felt like the Ross spray tan episode on Friends. When you use this product, the more time that goes on, the darker your skin turns. I think I used 5 drops the first time, but after that, I switched to 3 or 4 drops mixed in with my moisturizer before I go to bed at night. I actually haven't used them a lot recently.

And lastly, and just because I know some of you love to know this kind of thing like I do, I found these recently and LOVE them. The quality feels way better than the inexpensive price leads you to think they'll feel, and I am about to order some more.

I never share such personal things here, but I appreciate finding out about something I may like, and I feel like comfy underthings are super hard to come by. Anyways, what did you purchase recently that you love? Do I need to know about anything? I also use Kindle Unlimited and regularly purchase books when they go on super sale or when they're free. I'd also love to hear about your weekend! Thanks for reading my blog, friends! Love to all.

  1. I'm sorry you weren't feeling well, but maybe it was the water. I am struggling to drink enough right now. It is such a good feeling to return home!
I love how you run errands for dates and we need to do that more. Usually we divide and conquer. I need some good Mexican food soon!
I appreciate you sharing the undergarments because it is so overwhelming. I need to replace my Soma undies. I have loved them but they are at the end of their life after 4 years? I keep them way too long. I am always tempted to buy underthings at Costco but I need to listen to recommendations. Costco's are probably good but not as good as Soma? I don't know. I just need them to do their job and stay up!

  2. Thank you! It really could have been the water. I drank enough by the end of the night, but it's during the daytime that I'm struggling. We almost always end our dates by doing errands together! I don't know why, but I appreciate that he wants to go. I totally understand the difficulty in finding something you love and then needing to find a replacement. I don't know about the Soma or Costco ones, but I've been impressed with these. They're seamless and a type of fabric that stays in place. I'm probably going to order another set in some different colors. I like them that much! I hope you're able to find some soon.

  3. Sounds like a nice weekend! That Mexican meal that you had out with your husband looks really good. How fun to spend time with your mom and sister. I will look into the tanning drops. I've never heard of them. I think I look a little better with a bit of color (I'm naturally super pale) but I don't like to deviate too much from my natural color. Have a great Monday!

  4. I like the packing cubes. Hubby has some that I plan to use on my upcoming trip. Then, if I like them, I'll get some of my own for our future trips together. We had Mexican twice this weekend and both were delicious! I hope you have a great day!

  5. Good to hear that you felt better after resting and drinking water. It's amazing how being dehydrated can make you feel so unwell. Just today I had a horrible headache that started at the back of my right ear and went right up the side of my head. I thought "What's going on here?" But I was proud of myself that I chose to drink water instead of consulting Dr Google. After about 4 glasses of water, my headache started to gradually go away and then I felt so much better!

  6. The Mexican food looks delicious! Hope you are feeling better. This heat has been no joke. How fun you have packing cubes now! I have been using the tanning drops for a few years and really like them, but I don't use them consistently either.

  9. It was, Maria! You should look into them! There is also a light option, I believe. I bought the medium ones. I feel the same as you, though and like to look as little made-up as possible, especially in the intense heat of the summer.

  10. Cathy, that's great that he has some! My husband laughed at me over this purchase. Ha! I could eat Mexican food just about every day of the week. I love it so much!

  11. Ruth, those are the worst headaches! I seriously believe so many ailments could be cured by drinking enough water. I did better Monday with drinking more. I do think it helps!

  12. Tanya, you are so right! That could have been part of it. Thanks for hosting us each month!

  13. Thanks, Holly! I think so too, even though I am NOT a fan of the puppy training phase. I was so irritated by her Monday!
