weekending/prime purchases

Happy Monday, friends! I'm linking up with HollySarah and Tanya for today's blog post. How was your weekend? Mine was really good and it hit all the things that I love. I'll jump right in!

I started my day on Friday in my favorite way and watched this cute movie on the Hallmark Movies Now app that we have. I loved the movie, but the scenery was what was the best. It takes place on Hawaii. Everyone left for work, then after I had my quiet time, I straightened up a bit and then got dressed for my day. Dad and I decided to do lunch at Subway that day; he loves their subs, and I got one of their salads. I got the one with turkey and avocado with oil and vinegar for my dressing. It was delicious! I ate the entire thing. We visited for a bit, then I took him home in the afternoon. Todd worked on Friday and Saturday nights, so on this night I had leftovers for dinner. I also watched another movie, this one that I rented on Prime TV.

This was so, so good! I had kind of forgotten about the book, so it felt fresh to me, even though I did read the book years ago. I loved all the actors in this, and highly recommend it.

On Saturday, I had a few errands to run, so Mom and I did them together. She had a return to make as well, so Walmart was our first stop. After that we went to lunch, then to Sprouts (a smaller healthier grocery store), and to pick up a bathing suit I ordered a couple of weeks ago. I love the bathing suit, but I don't know if I want to keep it since the one I have is sufficient. I did take a picture of it, but I'm not sharing it here. I will share this one instead, though.

It's hot here already, so once again, I'm living in these dresses. I ordered a couple more of them over the weekend, in newer colors. I can't wait to try them on! I dropped Mom off at her car again, then I went to get a pedicure.

I got my summer white on my toes, to match the color I have on my nails at the moment. It's called Let's Be Friends, by OPI. I'll probably go in another week to get my nails done again, and I'm going neon! For dinner Saturday night, I made myself this amazing dish in the air fryer.

I cut up a chicken breast into strips, and coated the pieces with olive oil, a grilling spice we had on hand, and a pinch of salt and pepper. I added in big pieces of bell pepper and onion, tossed it all together, and cooked it on 385 for 23 minutes in the air fryer. I had riced cauliflower on the side, and it was amazing! I'm making this again this week. I'm also making something I found on a video on TikTok. I'll take shredded chicken, grape tomatoes, zucchini, and squash and coat all of it in olive oil and Olive Garden Italian dressing, then bake it for 30 minutes in a 375 degree oven. In the video, she covered hers with a little bit of shredded cheese, so I may do the same, but how good does that sound?

For the rest of the night, I made some protein bites for my family, and Oakley and I snugged and watched a show. I was up bright and early at church on Sunday, then spent the rest of my day reading at home. It was a great weekend! I'm spending today writing, so I pray that I get a lot done and will be able to finish up on my portion of our next Bible study this week. I need to start all of the editing in the next two weeks, so I'm on a tight schedule! I'm not a hundred percent sure I'll be posting tomorrow, but check back just in case. I may be done with the computer after spending my day staring at it.

And now onto some recent Amazon prime orders...click on each picture, and you'll be redirected to the Amazon website.

You know I have to start with a Kindle! What better time to purchase one for summer or upgrade the one you have? Mine is two years old now, and I love it just as much as the day my husband bought it for me. I have the kind of cover that opens and closes like a book, and mine has a little stand that opens up so that I can prop it open on my chair arm or the kitchen table if I'm eating and reading. I love it and cannot recommend this enough!

I am seriously contemplating buying these towels! It's something Todd and I were talking about the other night. I'd love to use these as bath towels, or find some that are similar that are actually the size we're needing. All of our towels are old and in need of replacement.

I recently bought another tub of this and I use it everyday in the summer.

I'm sharing this oil again as well, because I use it every single day on my hands and my feet. It helps with the dry skin that appears on your feet in the summertime.

Lastly, and because I'm a nerd, I love to change my phone cases with the seasons. I always, always, always order this brand. The quality is great and the price cannot be beat. The color says that it's "nice pink", but it definitely has some neon flair to it, which I love in the summertime. Let me show you a real life picture of mine. My popsocket came from Target a long time ago, but usually stores like Walmart and Target have better (cuter) options for those. I always have one on my phone cases, because it helps me grip my phone better.

Tell me something great about your weekend, and about something you've loved recently on Amazon! I'd love to hear from you. Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!

  8. I love your dress it looks lovely with the cute frill detail on the sleeves. Perfect for summer! Your meals look delicious, my son has been asking us to get an air fryer (he's into weightlifting and eating all the protein he can🤪) everyone I know who has an air fryer says that they are amazing, but I'm just worried about it taking up too much counter space in our small kitchen.

  9. Marilyn, the one I've made was delicious! I'm making the other one tomorrow night. I'll keep you posted!

  10. Thank you, Ruth! I love it and those same details. You should get an air fryer! If all else fails, you could put it away after each use, but I see us using it more in the summer than the oven. It gets so hot in the kitchen when I use the oven, but it's great for when it's just my husband and me, too. We love ours!

  17. I love, love, love the dress! Please tell me where you found it! I found some at Walmart a few years ago, but haven’t seen anymore since. They are so comfortable! It looks super cute on you!

  18. Thanks, Mandy! Unfortunately, I found it at Walmart years ago, but it's no longer there. I even bought two more recently thinking they were the same, and they are not. I love them so much! I bought two in the store that day a few years ago, and came home and bought three more online. I keep watching, though! I hope they carry them again, because I love the style and fit of them. I think they're really flattering on many body types.
