Happy Friday, friends! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for this weekly blog post.
I've enjoyed being back in the blog world this week! I always miss doing this regularly when I miss. Here's a list of some favorites from this week.
First up is the normalcy that this week brought! Routines and structure are my favorite things and all is well in my world when everyone is back to normal. I'm back to making lunches and send off's every morning and I love the free time I have after that.
It snowed here twice this week! It's always a favorite to see snow in the neighborhood. I love our home. I especially love her when she's covered with snow and ice.
Quiet time has been my favorite this week. So is this new chronological Bible I got for my birthday. There's nothing like sitting and lingering in this time every morning. I love the peace and quiet.
This fleecy pullover from Old Navy is my favorite clothing item purchase in the last few months. It's been cold this week, so I've pulled it out to wear twice. I can only wear it when it's cold outside, because I'm so hot natured. Look at Oakley watching me in the mirror. She's funny.
Nail day is always one of my favorite days! I was tired of the bright, glittery red and was going to go with white and sparkly, but changed my mind and got this color instead. I use the dip powder and I can't remember the brand, but the color is called Galactic. I love the blue-ish sparkles that are in the color!
I've been having a cup of one of my favorite drinks every afternoon—cinnamon flavored hot apple cider. I found some of those cinnamon Red Hots and I just add them into my kettle for the yummiest hot drink.
Staying home and cozy has been my favorite past time all week. Here's a sneak peak of what I've been reading this week. This is my fourth book so far of the month. It's so, so good! It's been ages since I've read a Nicholas Sparks book.
Afternoons and views like this are my favorite! Todd was home early yesterday and started a fire for us.
I have the funniest story. Speaking of that fire you saw above...when Crash (our white and black dog) sees a fire in the fireplace, it's like he thinks the floor is lava. My sons used to play that game when they were little and it is seriously what Crash does every single time we have a fire. Well, a log fell off the stack that was burning and onto the hearth (behind the screen still) and it made a loud pop and released a lot of smoke into the living room. When that happened, our smoke detector started going off and Crash took off like a rocket and stood at the back door just like this for a solid five minutes. We were cracking up laughing, because it's like he knew we should have been evacuating the house. We had to coax him back in here with us, and he was jumpy for the next half hour. Oakley must have been spooked as well, because she stood there with him. Our dogs are our favorites and they bring such joy to our lives!
Another favorite from the week was getting out of the house yesterday for the first time since Monday and going to lunch and then Kroger with my mom, Bill and Trish. (It was snowing/sleeting and Drew has had my car.)
I'll wrap this up with that one. How's your week been? Have you done anything fun and exciting? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all. ❤
Your nails are so pretty! Did you go somewhere to get them done (I thought you said in the past that you go to a salon) or did you do them yourself (you mentioned, "I used the dip powder...")? If you did them yourself, you should do a tutorial :). They look great! We got some snow, too, just yesterday. It really is pretty. Let's see, fun and exciting this week? Not really but I took my car in (loooong overdue) for an oil change and felt good about myself for FINALLY doing it, lol. Have a great day and weekend, friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Maria! I get them done...I think someone here asked me about what I used recently, which is why I included the dip powder information. I do have a friend who does her gel nails herself and they always look so good! I think you can even do the dip powder yourself as well, but I can't imagine what you'd use to make them a little thinner. I do love a bit of snow in the winter...I always think it's so beautiful. Hey, good for you! Seriously, that's an accomplishment and I always put that task off. I hope you have a great weekend too!
ReplyDeleteLove your nails!!

ReplyDeleteCute sweaater and yay for our snow days :). Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour fireplace is beautiful!! I would never leave that spot this time of year. How sweet of your hubby to get it going for you. I love your nail color! Seeing your new Bible again makes me really want to get it!! :) Motivation to finish my current Bible reading plan. ;) Wishing you the best weekend, friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly! I hope you have a great one as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya! I hope your weekend has been good!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marilyn! I love the chances I've had to wear it this week. Even if our snow days didn't bring much, I'm glad we got a little!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bri! We both love to have a fire going at this time of year. It's a lot of work for him, but once it's going, it's worth every minute. We love an old fashioned fire place and the smell it puts out as well. I love this time of year and am just so glad we finally had some winter weather. I know you will love this Bible! I hope you're able to finish soon so you can start this one! It's been a good weekend, I hope it has been for you as well!
