Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm linking up with Tanya for today's blog post that's all about Amazon Prime and the things I've purchased recently.
The theme for this month was makeup, as summer transitioned into fall and my skin lost some of the color I had leftover from a fun summer.
The first thing I bought was new lipstick.
I love Revlon lipstick. This color is called "spicy cinnamon" and it's a good color. It's a little more pink than it looks and I was hoping for more of a brown, but I will still use this.I also bought this new color and like it as well.
This one doesn't feel as good on, but it's a good formula to wear over a lipstick that is matte.
I bought this foundation, which is my normal foundation that I mix with a drop of an illuminating face primer that I use by Elf.
I do not recommend buying this online the first time. I suggest going to an Ulta or a pharmacy store and picking out the color you think is the best for your skin. I always use my hand to compare it to my face, but I don't know if that's the best way to go about it. It's always kind of a guessing game. It's always better to go a little light, rather than too dark.
I use literally one drop of this stuff and mix it with that other stuff from Elf, so this bottle will last me forever.
I picked out a new phone case for the new phone I have arriving in the next few days.
Side note: my husband and I are not Apple people. We've had Google phones for the last several years and wanted that again, but they're near impossible to find, so we went back to Samsung. We each got the new S 21.
I replenished my stash of my favorite pens.
And last but not least is my favorite purchase from the month...
...is this lovely new reading log/book journal from Modern Mrs. Darcy blogger and author, Anne Bogel. I'm looking forward to starting this in 2022! I have a regular journal that I use right now, a gift from one of my best friends Andrea, but it's almost full! I've been using it for the past few years and I've loved it...but this actual reading log has all kinds of fun things for bookworms like me, including reading lists! I'm swooning, just talking about it. I will say, it's a little pricey, but I figured I'd splurge this one time and support a favorite blogger and author of mine.
Other purchases this month included and not pictured:
Some favorite boxers for one of my guys, vitamins for me, hair conditioner, another tube of lipstick that I don't love for this time of year but am saving for spring, and a few ebooks for my Kindle. I'd love to hear from you, so it's your turn! What was your favorite thing that you purchased in the month of September?
Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all! ❤
What is the color name of the ONX(?) lipstick that you bought? I bought a brownish looking lipstick during the Nordstrom sale. It scared me to buy a BROWN lipstick but pictures showed it on different hued lips and it did not look brown just a nice neutral. I like it (and it isn't brown on my lips, thankfully) but will probably not buy that brand again (Bobby Brown) because it was pretty expensive and does not last that long- it is not worth the price. So I will look to replace it with something less expensive. The book journal you bought sounds great. I hope it brings you joy (sounds like it will!).
ReplyDeleteI hate that you wasted your money on an expensive lipstick that you don't even like, Maria! That's the exact reason why I only buy inexpensive lipsticks...because most of the time you cannot even open the tube. This particular color is called "Free Spirit", but it looks different on than it does in this picture. It's less that $5, though, so that's good. I will often use a lipstick I don't love over another darker color sometimes to tone it down. I hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI am always up for new pens!!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving that brownish lipstick - I hardly wear it now but that was always my go to color
Great finds! I'm interested in checking out the reading journal. Thanks so much for linking up with Prime Purchases!
ReplyDeleteToday I took I had my nails done. Oh I am so happy! I often envy yours and finally thought its okay for me to get them done. What is it about a manicure that makes one smile?
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the reading log/journal. I usually track my reading on the Goodreads App.
ReplyDeleteRebecca Jo, I missed wearing lipstick when we everything was locked down. I started wearing it again just to help keep my lips moisturized. They're so dry! I love these pens...they're marker type pens, but I use them for everything.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting us, Tanya! This is one of my favorite linkups each month.
ReplyDeleteJen- good for you! That is such a small thing, you're right, but it brings me joy as well. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCathy, I use that too, but I love actually writing it all down. I can't wait to start using this!
ReplyDeleteJen - how in the world am I so far behind in blog posts? Where have I been all week? I truly have no answer. But planning to catch up so pardon the overload of comments from moi:) Btw - totally not Apple people here either! Nope - not even. Ha!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I totally get that and have weeks like that myself! Sorry I missed this comment until just now...I'm bad at that as well sometimes. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know we're not the only ones!
