Here are some things I've been thankful for this week.
I am so thankful for my church family. I do not know how people get along in life without a solid support system of like-minded people around them. Twice this week we gathered together for something fun—Sunday we had a Christmas music preview party for the worship ministry and Monday night we had something called Girlfriend's CafĂ©.
There is something so sweet about like-minded friends and the gift of fellowship.
I was thankful to be able to go up to our church on Tuesday and help out with some things regarding Bible study that started Wednesday. I worked there until I felt sick from not eating. My friend and our women's ministry leader got stuck at another appointment that took longer than she'd expected, so it was really good that three of us were able to help her out.
It was so nice to have a full table at dinner Tuesday night. I made something that Noah requested and it was a hit! I made two pans of it so that everyone would have plenty. Drew and his roommates came to eat dinner with us.
Speaking of Noah, I am so glad he is back at home! He was gone for over a week and I missed him.
It was so good to be back in Bible study! I love studying the Word of God with women, and I saw an old friend and met some new ones. I will always be so thankful for these times that we can gather together. Speaking of gathering together—I have been so saddened to see all that is going on right now around the world. My prayers have been more concentrated and I am so glad the Lord knows our hearts when we don't know quite what to pray. I've been praying for the believers in Afghanistan, for parents who have had their daughters taken from them for unspeakable things, for translators that live in our city that are from there and for a miracle within the ones who are breathing violence and threatening the lives of believers. More than ever, I am thankful for the fact that God hears our every prayer. I am encouraged to never give up and to pray even more!

I agree that the fellowship of likeminded women is indispensable!
ReplyDeleteChristmas music - I'm excited for it - it always makes me feel the feels
ReplyDeleteTotally agree - I just cannot imagine "doing this life" without the support of like-minded women and a close church family!! That table looked very full...with hungry men as well as love and laughter!!
ReplyDeleteA Girlfriend's Cafe?!? That sounds so fun!! I jumped on the video for last night's Bible study, but I had to jump off to get my daughter into town for her Youth Group Lock-in, and then Joe (he's traveling this week) called in a couple times, so I am looking forward to watching the whole thing uninterrupted when they send it out, ha!
ReplyDeleteMy heart has been breaking for all that is going on in Afghanistan too. We have to keep those prayers going!
Michele- YES! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteRebecca Jo- I feel the same way! I love Christmas music so much!
